About Shalom Baruch

Owners Jess and Varda Fields carry forward their family's mission, started in 1927, to provide a place for Houstonians to lay their family members to rest. Knowing the lack of cemetery spaces that are accessible and respectful of Jewish tradition, the Fields have opened Shalom Baruch at Rosewood to help make what is often a most difficult time in one’s life, slightly easier.

The Cemetery

Shalom Baruch is a beautiful, peaceful space that welcomes individuals and families to bury their loved ones or simply visit for quiet, meditative moments. Inside the entrance is a lovely fountain that spills over into a bed in the shape of a Star of David. Two replica Western Walls – one for men, one for women – embrace the overall landscape. Notes and prayers left in the wall will be collected by Rosewood and flown to Israel to be placed in the Kotel several times a year.
